Australia defeats India
Australia defeated India 7-0 in the men’s hockey final on Monday in Birmingham. They keep their spotless record at the Commonwealth Games.
On the penultimate day of competition in Birmingham, the six-time defending champions humiliated their rivals in stifling heat.
Since men’s hockey was added to the Commonwealth Games schedule in 1998. Australia has won every gold medal.
After the first quarter, the strong Australians led 2-0. Two goals from Jacob Anderson helped them lead 5-0 after 30 minutes.
Early in the fourth quarter, Flynn Ogilvie finished the thrashing by scoring his second goal to make it 6-0.

“It’s fantastic to be able to do it with little to no cardiac issues. We had to play boldly, aggressively, and take the game on right away, and we did just that. The two games [the final and the semi-final versus England] differ in that regard. England, the host country, defeated South Africa 6-3 to win bronze.
With 67 gold medals, Australia has won the most medals, 10 more than England. India has 22 gold medals, while Canada is third with 26.

The 22nd Commonwealth Games’ 11 days of competition come to a close with the closing ceremony on Monday.
In other events on Monday, England’s Noah Williams and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix won the 10m event. Scotland’s James Heatly and Grace Reid won the mixed synchronized 3m springboard final.
In badminton, India celebrated a golden double.
Lakshya Sen defeated Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong to take the men’s gold. The world number seven PV Sindhu defeated Canada’s Michelle Li to win the women’s singles.
In the men’s singles table tennis gold medal final, India’s Sharath Kamal Achanta defeated England’s Liam Pitchford 4-1.

The CEO of Birmingham 2022, Ian Reid, stated that the Games had given the city a great boost.

In other events, the women of England won gold in hockey, and Australia defeated Jamaica in the netball final.
Australia maintained composure to defeat India in a thrilling Twenty20 match in front of a large Edgbaston crowd. They celebrated on the field as the stadium’s lights went off.

Jess Jonassen, a left-arm spinner, declared that it was enormous. We have been fortunate enough to play on some World Cup-winning teams. But earning the first gold medal in women’s cricket at the Commonwealth Games is an accomplishment.
The win highlighted Australia’s women’s dominance since they are also world champions in the 20-over and 50-over categories.
In the 1500-meter race at the Alexander Stadium, Muir put a gloss on her Commonwealth Games run.

Eilish McColgan, the 10,000-meter champion, and teammate of the 29-year-old came in second to Kenya’s outstanding world silver medalist Beatrice Chebet in the women’s 5,000-meter race.
Muir, who took home bronze in the 800m on Saturday, went all-out before the gun went off, outdueling a rather average field that was missing two-time Olympic winner Faith Kipyegon and clocking in at 4 minutes, 02.75 seconds.
In a run of 1:47.52, Wycliffe Kinyamal successfully defended his men’s 800m title. The 25-year-old, who placed last in the world championships final in July, made a remarkable comeback.

The men’s road race was won by New Zealand cyclist Aaron Gate, who earned his fourth gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Australia’s Georgia Baker earned her third gold medal in the competition in the women’s race.
After fending off an Australian comeback to win 2-1, England captured the hockey gold for the first time.
24 hours after the men’s team had experienced semi-final sorrow at the hands of Australia, goals from Holly Hunt and Tess Howard in the second quarter finally supplied the winning margin.
Australia won the netball competition by a score of 55-51 over Jamaica in the championship.
Sandwell Aquatics Center
At the Sandwell Aquatics Center, Australia also excelled. While Maddison Keeney earned her second gold medal of the competition in the women’s 3m springboard, Cassiel Rousseau won the men’s 10m platform competition.
On a busy boxing night, Delicious Orie of England defeated Sagar Ahlawat of India to win the super heavyweight gold medal.
India took home three further boxing gold medals. While Northern Ireland came away with five, including a unique double for Aidan Walsh and his sister Michaela.
